“I am honored and excited to join the Astera leadership team. As a therapist, I practice with empathy and compassion, meeting each patient where they are at in their wellness journey. As an administrator, I aim to enhance access to quality care, specifically addressing social determinants of health such as mental health, transportation, community resources, and family support.

I joined Astera after serving in the non-profit sector after 15+ years, managing social service programs that included case management, counseling, food pantry, senior services (senior center,
social adult day programs for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease/dementias and family caregiver support), COVID and disaster response, career readiness, health education, and community centers in low-income housing complexes. I am thrilled to share my experience and build the Social Work department in the months to come.

The newly formed Social Work department will complement the interdisciplinary team and ultimately enhances patient outcomes and experience. You are not alone in this journey – we are here to support you.

In my previous position, I led the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Task Force to assess our individual and collective contributions to the field; Astera is committed to this work and I am happy to support this vision.”
