Astera Prone Breast Radiation Therapy

Reducing Your Exposure. Getting Results.

At Astera, our radiation oncologists offer prone breast radiation therapy, a unique approach to treating breast cancer known to benefit certain women.

How Prone Breast Therapy at Astera Works

We treat the patient in a prone position, causing the breast to fall away from the chest. This enables us to direct the beam of radiation to the breast but not the chest, reducing radiation exposure to the heart and lungs.

Is Prone Breast Radiation Therapy the Right Option for You?

Treatment in the prone position may not be right for all patients, and there are many factors our doctors must consider in determining the optimal treatment position for you. Please call Astera to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for prone breast therapy.
