Hummus is a great snack all year, but during the winer making warm hummus is not only satisfying but tastes great! Hummus is rich in fiber and plant-based protein, making it a very nutritious snack. Try out this recipe for warmed hummus:

Warm Beet Hummus:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cooked beets
  • 1 can of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Transfer to a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until warm.
  • Serve with raw vegetables or warm pita bread.
